As another year draws to an end...

Having decided to totally avoid the enforced merriment that is New Year's Eve and instead settle for the warmth and delight of The Burrow we are now facing the approach of 2006. But we do so with hope rather than trepidation.

2005 has been a year of consolidation for us. Having had minor family crises (my parents, ups and downs with the kids) failing to sell The Burrow and move, a number of annoying thefts (both bicycles, our beloved laptop and rachel's handbag), settling into a new job, a number of top holidays and just generally enjoying being together during 2005, we are looking ahead to a very busy 2006.

Top of the disruption list has to be the redevelopment of The Burrow at some point in the spring meaning we need to move out and set up home somewhere else for the duration of the work. We're also planning a holiday in Australia where I get to see BOTH my sisters in the same room for the first time in at least two decades.

In terms of resolutions we're keeping them light. Rachel is still 'on track' to smoke less, and I've decided I've got to do something about improving my fitness to avoid routine backpain.

So whatever the year has in store we're ready for it. Probably.

A very happy christmas to all our friends and family. Regular vistors to this site and to Treacle's World may recognise the flock...

As I'm often heard to say "that flocking cat..."
